Operations do not have to leave behind unsightly scars

Operations are a major cause of larger scars. The interventions are usually medically necessary and therefore cannot be avoided, but they can leave behind conspicuous scars.
It is important, for this reason, that the scar be just as professionally treated as the intervention itself.

Among the most common operations are Caesarean sections, as well as operations on joints or the internal organs. These are usually planned in advance so that patients have the opportunity to prepare themselves well for both surgery and aftercare.

Most operations involve deep, smooth incisions which are then cleanly sutured. In healthy tissue, such a wound heals quickly and easily. Nevertheless, a scar is also formed when there is good healing.

Three simple measures promote good scar healing:

1. Avoid long full baths and shower instead in the first few weeks after surgery.
2. Do not expose the scar to long-lasting, intense sunlight for about 6 to 9 months.
3. Rub Contractubex® into the scar regularly. This supports scar formation and ensures that the scar will be barely visible and palpable.

Contractubex® should be applied as soon as the wound is closed and the stitches are removed. The formation of an unnoticeable scar is supported from the outset by early application and the scar heals in the best possible manner.
