Burns or scalds

Contractubex® also for injuries over large surface areas

Burns may occur due to various external agents. In most cases, they are caused by direct contact with fire or hot objects (55%*). About 40%* of all burns are scalds and are caused by hot liquids or steam. They are often caused by carelessness in everyday life and often affect children.

Burns are differentiated according to degrees of severity – from mild burns in which only the top layer of the skin has been damaged to severe burns in which all layers of the skin and the underlying tissue are affected.

First aid for burns

You can easily treat mild burns yourself. For more serious burns, be sure to see a doctor immediately!

1. Cool the affected area immediately (maximum 20 minutes) with cold tap water until the pain subsides.
2. Cover the wound with a sterile, non-linting wound dressing.
3. Do not bring the wound in contact with home remedies like oil or flour since they can catch fire.
4. Consult a doctor for further treatment with gels or ointments.

Once the burn is healed, you should start treatment with Contractubex®. Contractubex® can also be easily applied to larger areas of the body to prevent unsightly and mobility-impairing scars. The earlier the treatment begins, the better the results.
