Contractubex® helps with one of the most common injuries

Abrasions are generally superficial skin injuries that arise when the skin is scraped over rough surfaces. This happens, for example, when falling on asphalt. Whether when cycling, inline skating or playing soccer – abrasions are a typical sports injury.

The wounds are often quite large, painful and moist. Although abrasions are not dangerous, they should be properly cared for so that the skin can heal.

How do I care for an abrasion properly?

1. Cleaning

Abrasions are often dirty and should be cleansed with a mild disinfectant to prevent infections.

2. Protection

To protect the abrasion from sticking to clothing, it should be covered with a bandage.

3. Visiting the doctor

For very large or deep abrasions, you should consult a doctor who will professionally clean and treat the wound.

Abrasions form a scab, which provides natural protection. Under this scab, new tissue is formed from the edge inwards, and the wound slowly closes.

To prevent the formation of unsightly scars, Contractubex® should be applied to larger abrasions once the scab loosens from the damaged skin. This enables the skin to effectively regenerate itself and the scar to heal in the best way possible.
